January

-- The Mystery Gallery MOB rides again at the Kollectiv. Not every artist in the downtown Phoenix area is affiliated with a Gallery or
has a Studio. For these artists, such as Jake Beckman, AKA Jake, AKAJake,
Artlink Inc. has created Mystery Gallery that they may join in the excitement of
Art Detour-perhaps the biggest the largest event of its kind in the country.
The Mystery Gallery MOB5 rides again during First Friday March 7 6-10 PM, Art Detour: March 8 10 AM- 6 PM, and March 9 12-6 PM at Kollectiv Art and Design 815 N 2nd St Phoenix AZ. In addition to Jake Beckman the other MOB5 artists are: Mark Patterson, Frank Roberts, Kristine Brambilla, Sylvia Frost, Josie Taglienti, Ric Ordway, and Michael Petry.
Street
parking is available, but sometimes hard to come by and there are lots of
crowds. You can also ride the Artlink shuttle from the Burton Barr
Library, which has lots of parking on Central & Willeta, to Kollectiv Art
and Design as well..
Click on Kollectiv Map icon to the right to see map of location.
Art Detour
has a subset of spaces called the Kids Detour-these are definitely kid friendly
spaces so you won't be explaining what Robin was doing to Batman in that
painting... MOB5 is not on the Kids Detour, but it is useful information for parents to
know. For those of you interested in the Kids Detour go to the
Burton Barr Library Saturday and Sunday. Kids Detour does not operate
Friday night.
Brochures for Art Detour should be available at the Burton Barr Library on Central and Willeta.
In addition to lots of art, the MOB and Kristine Remmers of the Kollectiv have made some exciting plans for Art Detour 20.
- Friday Night: There will be Tiki Torches lighting the way. Kritstine Remmers has arranged for some graffiti Artists as well. There is talk of an art project requiring your participation... and maybe even a DJ (Kristine Remmers is working on that...)
- Satuday: Live music. Some of the mob will be doing live painting demonstrations if the weather is nice.
- Sunday: Live music. Come experience the Art!
