Rock Me!

Binary Birds, by Jake Beckman - art that proudly projects you are member of the Social Media Tribe. iPods and social media go together like unicorns and glitter.  In one way, music sharing is one way people communicate via social media. 

Rock Me! is an original acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas. The work is 11 x 14 x 3/4 inches. It is painted on the edges so that it may be hung without a frame. Rock Me!, by Jake Beckman, shows an umbrella crested cockatoo in silhouette, rocking out as it listens to the music on its iPod. The background is representation of music with patches of yellow, spraying out into red which becomes darker toward the edges. The predominant colors are shades of red with black and white. In keeping with the Binary Birds social media theme the canvas is overlaid with ASCII Binary reading "Rock Me" which parallels the cord from the iPod to the ear buds. The work is signed by the artist, "Jake," in the lower left hand corner. On the back of the work the title and date of creation are noted in paint; the FAR Tag No. 17496 is placed in the region behind the signature on the back of the canvas. A translation of the ASCII Binary is also provided in the rolled over margin of the canvas on the back. The work is federally copyrighted. All reproduction and publishing copyrights are retained by the artist.
