Binary Birds, by Jake Beckman - art that proudly
projects you are member of the
Social Media Tribe. Netiquette,
etiquette for social media, or as your mom said, "sit on your flaming
monster, you don't who is out there reading you."
Netiquette is an original 24 inch x 36 inch x 0.75 inch
acrylic painting on a stretched gallery wrapped canvas. In "Netiquette", by
Jake Beckman, a singing yellow canary perches atop a flaming monster resembling
a punch-face Persian cat. The flaming monster does not look terribly happy, but
is resigned to his position. The flames of the monster merge into an abstract
swirling blue background. There is a spiral of ASCII binary spiraling out in the
background which reads, “Netiquette.” The painting references an unofficial
online code of conduct that is to be used in cyberspace, specifically no “flaming.” The
predominant colors of this pair are shades of yellow, orange, red, blue with a
touch of brownish black. The Work is signed by the Artist, Jake, in the lower right hand corner. On the back of the work the title and date of creation are noted in pencil; the
FAR Tag No. 17493 is placed in the region
behind the signature on the back of the work. The work is federally copyrighted.

"Although the concept for this painting came quickly enough, I did struggle
with the composition, during the sketch phase, quite a bit, until I realized my
flaming monster was looking more an more cat-like. Once I recognized that,
modeling the monster on a punch-face Himalayan made the whole thing fall into
place." - Jake
