Bridge

Bridge is an original acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas. The work is 11 x 14 x 3/4 inches. It is painted on the edges so that it may be hung without a frame. Bridge, by Jake Beckman, shows a crested cockatoo in silhouette, conducting the orchestra in its mind as it listens to the music on its iPod. The background is representation of music going from and almost black shade of green, to bright green, to pale sea green; it is overlaid with emotive swirls and spires. The predominant colors are shades of bluish green with black and white. In keeping with the Binary Birds social media theme the canvas is overlaid with ASCII Binary reading "Bridge" The work is signed by the artist, "Jake," in the lower right-hand corner. On the back of the work the title and date of creation are noted in paint; the FAR Tag No. 17499 is placed in the region behind the signature on the back of the canvas. A translation of the ASCII Binary is also provided in the rolled over margin of the canvas on the back. The work is federally copyrighted. All reproduction and publishing copyrights are retained by the artist.
