Quality of Light No 1, is acrylic on 18" x 24" loose canvas. Quality of Light No 1, by Jake Beckman, is part of a triptych featuring glasses and bottles lit by the sun; the colors are muted green, pink and brown, with touches of red, blue and yellow.
I took some photographs of some of my glassware one fine partly cloudy winter day. The light coming through the window was odd yet had an interesting quality to it. After a bit I conceived of a series of these still life and did color sketches for about 10 versions. Only three made it to canvas. As one might infer I am a fan of tequila Añejo.-Jake
