Purple Haze, by Jake Beckman, is a pastel painting featuring a Grand Canyon Overlook where the view is shrouded in clouds, which have taken on the purple and orange of sunset. Spare pines eke out an existence on sun warmed yellow rocks at the edge of the violet precipice.

I have often driven across the Arizona high country taking in its scenic vistas. Several times I have been graced to see rain moving up a valley at sunset, a precipice revealed the shimmering sunset-colored curtains of mist. It is truly a stunning sight to behold and one which remains indelibly etched in my mind.-Jake
