Carlee Almost 8 is an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas. The work is 11 x 14 x 5/8 inches. In Carlee Almost 8, by Jake Beckman, Carlee, a lovely, bright, blond, blue-eyed girl-child on the cusp of 8-hood poses for her class picture. "I am almost 8," she says importantly, beguiling us all with her innocent smiling countenance. The predominant colors are her pale skin tones accented by her white shirt and pink sweater, the blue of her eyes picked up in the blue of the background and the flowing gold of her hair. The Work is signed by the Artist "Jake" in the lower right hand corner. The work is coated with a gloss varnish to protect the delicate brush work. On the back of the work, the title and date of creation are noted in paint and the FAR Tag No. 2690 is placed in the region behind the signature. The work is federally copyrighted. All reproduction and publishing copyrights are retained by the artist. I painted Carlee Almost 8 at the request of her father. He supplied me with a tattered school portrait he carried around in his wallet. I met Carlee some time ago, and just before I painted this portrait I attended her 8th Birthday Party. I will not make any prints of this picture unless her dad, mother or she herself one day asks for it. I am supplying it here so you, my patrons, can get an idea of what I can do with a small photograph, just in case you ever decide you want an 11x14 inch portrait of a person or pet. -Jake
