Lucas Prince of Darkness: 12' X 8' panel of a Mural painted
on exterior of a workshop in exterior latex paint coated with a satin urethane
with UV inhibitor. Lucas Prince of Darkness, by Jake Beckman, features
a Triumph motorcycle morphing into a dragon as it touches down for a landing in
the Sonoran desert. A pair of humming birds fence and a rattlesnake raises its
head. In the frame of the palm tree-hands an iguana basks. The predominant
colors are red, tan and green, with nearly every color present somewhere in the
work.
"I painted Lucas Prince of Darkness on the workshop of my home. It is the
largest feature of three panels created. One of the other panels has an image of
Joe, and the third an archangel. I painted the Triumph motorcycle as Joe likes
those British vibrators. I had a great deal of fun hiding other little images in
the big ones. I present this work as a means of demonstrating I can create
murals as well as paint on canvas, after all I have been scribbling on walls
since I was a child." -Jake
