Island 24 inch x 36 inch acrylic on canvas. The gallery wrapped canvas is painted to the exposed edge that it may be hung without a frame. FAR Tag  # : 1896 Island, by Jake Beckman, shows raven soaring in the heavens in search of land, against a backdrop of the red, orange, brown, white, and blue Bug nebula.

The Hubble Space Telescope Pictures speak to me in a primal sense, seeing the forces of creation on such a vast scale is truly remarkable. It took me some time to work out something that addressed my creative muse. Raven as both creature of creation and trickster seems to fit perfectly in my mind. The sweeping arc of the Bug Nebula spoke to me as a bird in flight.-Jake
