ASCII Bird is an original 24 inch x 30 inch x 0.75 inch acrylic painting on a stretched gallery wrapped canvas. In ASCII Bird, there are 10 rows of birds with 8 birds per row. Each bird is either flying or perching, black or white, and facing left or right. The birds' states represent ASCII binary code, which reads "ASCII Bird", "3 Messages", and "networking" respectively. The colors are shades of brown, black, gray and white. The Work is signed by the Artist, Jake, in the lower right hand corner. On the back of the work the title and date of creation are noted in pencil; the FAR Tag No. 17485 is placed in the region behind the signature on the back of the work. The work is federally copyrighted. All reproduction and publishing copyrights are retained by the artist. Images are not to be copied, re-distributed, imitated, derived OR otherwise used in any form without the explicit written permission of the artist.
The painting is the fifth in the Social Media Birds Series. I have gone off on a tangent with this work, exploring two state representation without using numbers. I also used a very muted color pallet which sets it apart from the other members of this series so far. It think it has a kind of Egyptian feel. - Jake
